As the top Palm Harbor carpet cleaners, here at Superior Carpet Restorations, we have plenty of experience with those hard to remove carpet stains! Today we’re sharing some of the toughest to remove carpet stains that we’ve cleaned up for our clients in the past!
Palm Harbor Carpet Cleaners Share 7 Toughest Carpet Stains
1. Coffee or Tea
Coffee and tea are both hard to remove from carpets, in no time at all these stains can set into your carpet and become impossible to remove. We recommend blotting the stain as soon as possible with a clean dry cloth and then using a mixture of mild detergent and warm water to lift the stain
2. Red Wine
Red wine spills can be horrific and how you treat them depends on the type of carpet you have. We recommend blotting the stain first before trying a solution of 1 tablespoon of ammonia mixed with 1 cup of warm water (DO NOT use this treatment on wool or wool-blend carpets! Instead try using warm water and mild detergent.)
Blood stains are tough to remove and many people make the mistake of using warm water for removal. What you actually want to do is use a mixture of mild liquid dish detergent combined with COLD water to completely saturate the stain before blotting it with a clean dry towel.
4. Pet Urine
Pet urine isn’t just a hard to remove stain, it’s a stain that has a terrible odor too! Begin removing the stain by blotting it with a clean dry cloth. Next, use a tested pet stain remover to tackle the stain. Once the stain is removed and the carpet dried, if you still smell the odor, completely cover the stain with a hefty helping of baking soda and leave it to sit for 24-hours before vacuuming the area clean.
To tackle washable ink stains on your carpet, combine 1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar with 32 ounces of water and clean the stain while blotting with a clean dry white towel.
Cleaning vomit stains from carpet is unpleasant, to say the least, but it can be done. Begin removing the stain by carefully using a clean spoon to pick up any solid mess. Once you have removed any solid mess from the carpet, combine 1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar with 32 ounces of water and dampen the stain. Blot the stain. Spray again and blot again and continue this process until your carpet is clean, making sure to switch out to a clean white towel or cloth for blotting when your cloth gets saturated.
Removing paint from your carpet really depends on the type of carpet and the type of paint you have spilled. For example, wet paint or latex paint stains can usually be removed with white vinegar and water.
